What it's like to train at The Garage Gym:
What It's Actually Like to Train at The Garage Gym
You know the show Cheers?
The bar where everyone knows your name. Where you walk in, find your spot, and settle into the kind of comfort that only comes from a place that feels like it’s yours?
That's the closest thing we've got to describing what it feels like to walk into The Garage Gym.
Except instead of bar stools and Norm, it's barbells and people who are excited to see you.
Walking in:
6am or 6pm… doesn't really matter.
You buzz in with your phone, the door opens, and you walk into a space that is clean, not over crowded, and filled with exactly the kind of people you want to be around.
Or - if you are in a ‘I don’t want to talk to anyone’ type of mood - you have the gym and people who aren’t going to pester you.
Now that it's April too, there's a good chance the garage door is open.
Fresh air, natural light, people driving by trying to get a glimpse in.
It feels like walking into your own personal garage gym, except bigger with cool murals and a sound system that would get you kicked out of your neighborhood.
Training how you want:
No waiting or scanning the room to figure out what equipment is available.
No modifying your whole session because someone has been on the only squat rack for 45 minutes twiddling on their phone.
You walk in with a plan to train how you want.
The people around you:
This is the part that's hard to put into words, but easy to feel the moment you walk in.
You might run into Joe, Kevin, Marcie, or Julia - our trainers who are core to The Garage Gym and key pieces of our community.
Or, you might be next to a member who's been coming for three years and recently became a friend.
Or… someone who joined yesterday and forgot where exactly the water fountain was.
The common thread of all members of The Garage Gym is less about what they’re training for, and more about who they are.
All members apply, speak with our Onboarding Officer, and come in for a tour of the facility prior to joining to ensure they’re good people.
As a result, all members of The Garage Gym are good people, with good intentions, training for what's important to them.
We often joke (not really) that at The Garage you may make more friends than you know what to do with.
Your Garage Gym:
Feel like ripping a playlist through your headphones and getting lost in it?
Go for it.
Feel like popping one earbud out and stumbling into a conversation between sets that's equal parts meaningful and unexpected?
Happens a ton.
Want to own a power rack and superset with row intervals and farmers carries ?
You’ll have the space and autonomy to do so.
Our goal at The Garage is to make it feel like it’s yours.
Train how you want, when you want... and in return ?
All we ask is that you’re nice and put your equipment back.
Why we built The Garage:
Too many people don’t realize how enjoyable their gym experience can be.
Crowds, crummy people, and lame vibes can jade good people from thinking their current gym experience is what their forever gym experience will be.
Your gym should excite you.
Get you to work harder, connect with others, and be a vehicle to pursue the best version of you.
A place you’re eager to go to vs feel like you have to go to.
That’s our goal with The Garage Gym.
Create a space where good people get excited to go to to pursue the best version of themselves.
If that sounds like something you’re interested in - apply below to speak with our Onboarding Officer.
